Samsung Galaxy S3: 5 Things No Other Phone In The World Has

The flagship Samsung Galaxy S3 phone has had a red carpet launch party in New York that could have been mistaken for the Oscar Awards. When the phone was unveiled on June 20th at a launch event the focus was on 5 features of the phone that makes it unique among its competition.

Samsung Galaxy S3 event focuses on 5 exclusive features

Everyone had expected to hear Samsung bragging about the specs, along with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is the phone’ss operating system. Todd Pendleton, Chief Marketing Office and Chief Product Officer Kevin Packingham had other ideas however and focused on five features that no other smartphone offers.

All Share Group Cast was one of these. This is useful for collaborating and sharing documents. Share Shot is a feature which allows users to share photos at any event and S Beam works on much the same principle as Bump for iOS. SmartStay notices when the user is looking at the phone and keeps the screen lit. Pop Up Play is a feature allowing users to have a small screen HD video on top of whatever else they are doing, such as emailing or texting.

All of the above are features that are interesting and by focusing on them it made sure that Samsung brought something different to the launch event. On the down side the first three of these unique features can only be used if owners know someone else with a Galaxy S3 (Samsung didn’t outright say it but it was obvious to anyone attending the event). However this could be Samsung being very clever and their plan to push out more devices. Samsung need not have worried about this as there had already been more than 9 million pre-orders of the handset before the launch.

The red carpet launch event in New York saw some well-known names in show business attending, including Ashley Greene from the Twilight films, who hosted the launch party. Meanwhile Skrillex, Dubstep sensation, performed at Skylight Studios in celebration of the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3.
