The Examiner claims that while Apple didn’t explicitly say when the iPhone 5 would hit the streets, it did give a huge hint about the release date.
Was the iPhone 5 release date hinted with the iOS 6 rollout schedule?
The site says that the tech giant has pretty much confirmed when it will release the next-gen iPhone 5, and that this is when it releases iOS 6 in the autumn. This will be the best time to make the announcement as this means that the new iPhone 5 will be launched with iOS 6 preloaded. iOS 6 is believed to have at least 200 new features – albeit some of them minor. It makes commercial sense for the iPhone 5 to come preloaded with iOS 6, as it makes the device even more appealing to customers.
As yet, Apple has unveiled the new Maps app that it hopes will oust Google Maps and end the five-year collaboration between the two companies. If the iPhone 5 does have the new OS, it will mean that users will have access to its turn-by-turn navigation feature – another major selling point that once was used by Android rivals to put the iPhone down.
Having said all this, though, there’s still no official word on a release date, so all iPhone fans can do is sit back, wait and enjoy the rest of the summer.
What do you think? Will Apple unleash its new iPhone 5 in tandem with its new OS?
