Now that we have all had the chance to the get a good look at the Samsung Galaxy S3 thanks to the numerous reviews and tests, it is time to look ahead and see what Samsung may have in store for their Galaxy Note 2. Rumor has it that the device will come with a larger display which is said to be unbreakable.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 screen tipped to be unbreakable unlike Galaxy S3
MK Business News said that Samsung are getting set to release a big brother to the Note in October. It has been rumored that the new device will be a hybrid of monstrous proportions between a phone and a tablet, the phablet. The screen is thought to be larger than that of the original Note which comes with a 5.3 display. What makes the screen stand out is the fact that it makes use of unbreakable plane technology, otherwise known as UBP. This is thought to be the precursor to flexible screen technology. This was something that was brought up and show in detail at the CES 2011.
It is thought that the new Galaxy Note 2 will use the same quad core processor as the Galaxy S3 and it should come with Android 4.1 Jellybean installed out of the box. Jellybean is said to be on the agenda at the upcoming Google I/O.
As October is only four months away, fans of the Note will not have long to wait for the arrival of the latest device. The first Galaxy Note has sold well, more than 7 million units to date. When it was first revealed it got a lot of bad press and was dubbed a “Frankenstein creation” However over time we got used to the size of the Note. Hopefully Samsung will have paid attention to making the new model look smaller than it is, after all as it is classed as a phone, it has to be able to fit in your pocket, or at least look as though it will, if it is to sell.
So far, a number of features which were rumored to make its way into the Samsung Galaxy S3 but never did, are now popping up with Note 2 rumors. This includes the 12-megapixel rear camera and Super AMOLED Plus III display. We can now add ‘unbreakable’ to the list which is big given that recent drop tests pitting the Samsung Galaxy S3 against the iPhone 4S showed the S3 shattering quite easily.
