Pre-Paid iPhone 4S Releases June End, iPhone 5 Release Date Sooner Than Later Hopefully

A hot topic at the moment is the recent prepaid iPhone announcement of it being offered by Sprint through Virgin Mobile – available from 29th June 2012. This is about all we have to look forward to on the iPhone front since the iPhone 5 has yet to be announced.

Prepaid iPhone 4S available June 29, iPhone 5 release date still vague

Prepaid iPhones aren’t exactly a new phenomenon as we have seen it before with Cricket who are also confirmed to be offering this with Virgin. This may be a new era for prepaid wireless as the selling point for providers is usually the fact you can get expensive phones through them if you sign up for a contract; something which adds up financially to a huge amount compared to these new all-inclusive prepaid wireless plans.

We are intrigued to see whether the level of Virgin customers increases after the release of this on 29th June – although we may have to wait a little longer to see the true numbers as many consumers are waiting for the iPhone 5 before leaving their current contract and upgrading their device, so may want to wait and see if this is going to be available on prepaid wireless, as seems likely as both Virgin Mobile and Sprint will be offering it for the iPhone 4 ($549) and 4S ($649). After this one-off payment, users will have to pay $35 for the plan, which includes limited data and messaging ($35 if you pay by direct debit). For another $50, you can have unlimited call time.

If the iPhone 5 had in fact launched at the WWDC 2012 as we had all so hoped for, it may have arrived in stores at the end of June, meaning the 4S would have been cheaper for the prepaid customers to obtain, but the 4S is still the most expensive option since the iPhone 5 has still not been officially announced.
