New Superphone To Knock Samsung Galaxy S3 Off Its High Horse

There is a newcomer coming into the town of smartphones and it is set to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. There has been so much about this phone on the net that you could be forgiven for thinking that it was already available. We’re talking about the hotly anticipated Motorola Droid RAZR HD for Verizon.

Motorola DROID RAZR to take on dual-core US Samsung Galaxy S3 & HTC One X

It is thought that it will meet the Samsung Galaxy S3 head to head in terms of specs and even potentially outclass it in terms of design. Leaked photos of the handset show the back of the device as being of a Kevlar like material in entirety which is very similar to that of the RAZR and the Maxx. The Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX as we know is a hot seller on Verizon and recent reports revealed that it was already outselling the iPhone 4S on Big Red since February. The Motorola DROID RAZR HD, suspected to be the MAXX’s sucessor, comes with microHDMI and microUSB ports and it is thought to be powered by a 3,300mAh battery if the thickness of the handset in the photos is anything to go by. This could put the plastic look of the Galaxy S3 to shame along with its smaller battery.

Benchmark tests have shown the display to be 1196×720 with the device having buttons on screen ala Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich style. This means that it’s almost the same size as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. The Motorola DROID RAZR HD would purportedly have the same dual core processor as the One X, the Snapdragon S4, and it would run at 1.5GHz too. It could however be let down by one thing, RAM. It is thought to have 1GB RAM when the US version of the Galaxy S2 comes with a dual-core processor too but 2GB RAM.

Right now we are waiting for news on the release date and the price however with the price being dropped on the RAZR MAXX it could suggest that the RAZR HD may be just around the corner.
