Photos of what appear to be a very large Samsung Galaxy S3 have been posted online by the folks over at PhoneArena. However fans of the Galaxy S3 should not get too excited as while it does look a lot like the S3 it is infact a tablet.
Samsung Galaxy S3 lookalike is the next Google Nexus tablet?
Rumors suggest that what you see below is the upcoming Google Nexus which is thought to have a 7 inch display, run on the Tegra 3 quad core processor and have Android 4.0.
The Google Nexus tablet would be in competition with the Kindle Fire and Galaxy Tab and the images which were leaked through PhoneArena look as though they are press images which have been taken from a computer screen. Looking at the tablet from the front it has the same look as the S3 with all the curves in the right places and even the camera which is found close the light sensor. However given that Samsung is not rumored to be making the Google Nexus tablet, this may just be a coincidence.
One unusual thing though is the addition of what looks a lot like an earpiece. Could this suggest that the tablet is also able to make and receive calls in the same way a phone does? We hope not as the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note is where we would draw the line when it comes to holding devices up to your face. While all suggestions point to it being the Nexus tablet there has been no confirmation and at the moment none of the carriers in the US are claiming it either.
We cannot see whether there is a physical home button as the photos are not of high quality and it is thought that the back of the tablet is in two tone plastic and aluminium, which would be for the 3G and 4G radios.
