One of the 200 changes is so minute you might just miss it. As is the case with this particular feature which is not only subtle but the fact that it was done shows us that there are still Apple engineers out there which Steve Jobs would be proud of.
iOS 6 feature: Artificial gleam in Music app
Apple announced iOS 6 during their 2012 WWDC and also said that the new operating system would bring about 200 benefits to users. However one of the 200 new features is so small that many users might not even notice it and believe they only have 199. A Gizmodo reader got in touch with the blog to say that they had noticed something special when they opened up the music app. This was a reflection on the sliders which are metallic and it actually moves as the device is tilted from side to side.
When the guys at Gizmodo checked out this claim they found it to be true. Apple seem to have made changed to the app and now it detects the movement and shifting of position which then creates a gleam, artificial of course, on the virtual knob.
This in fact takes on a design feature that was seen way in the 70s. This new feature is by no means functional and it is superfluous but then again it is rather impressive, if you take a good look and actually notice that it is there and it is a new feature. Let’s just hope that all the promised 199 features left are a little more functional than this one.
