AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 To Fight HTC One X & Motorola Asanti For Flagship Status

The DROID RAZR from Motorola has proved to be very popular and there have been numerous different versions of the smartphones, with some saying China had the best versions. Now according to the folks over at AndroidCommunity, a new RAZR will be appearing in the forms of the Asanti on AT&T and the Vanquish on Verizon.

Motorola DROID RAZR HD to take on Samsung Galaxy S3 & HTC One X

There has been many rumors flying around of a Motorola DROID RAZR HD handset and recently PocketNow revealed that Motorola look set to release it shortly. It is thought the Vanquish on the Verizon network will be launched as the DROID RAZR HD or DROID Fighter and will have 4G LTE. The model number is thought to be XT926.

AT&T will be getting a very similar handset and it too will have 4G LTE. The code name for this model is Asanti. However it has been suggested that this handset will be more like the Atrix HD from Motorola than the RAZR. Reports suggest the mobile will comes with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, but it will not have an HD display.

The original DROID RAZR came with a 1.2GHz OMAP4 dual core processor and worked on 4G LTE. It was also one of the thinnest 4G devices on the market and was fitted with a Kevlar back and was almost unbreakable thanks to the insides being metal and being fitted with a display made of Gorilla Glass. This time around, the Motorola DROID RAZR HD will purportedly pack a 4.6-inch HD display (720p), 10 to 12 megapixel camera and come preloaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The good news is that it will also retain the 3,300mAh battery. With specs like these, it will no doubt give the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X a run for their money.

Given that the Motorola DROID RAZR HD has already appeared in Celebrite systems at 3rd party retailer as the DROID Fighter, there is also the odd chance that it may arrive on Verizon ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S3. As for the AT&T, the Samsung Galaxy S3 may have to fend off both the Asanti and HTC One X for title of the flagship Android device on the carrier. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
