For those who own the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc or the Xperia Neo, you will be pleased to hear that Android 4.0, also known as the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), is now available on both these devices. The phones will both stay on kernel 2.6.32 and will be updated to Android 4.0.4.
Sony Xperia Arc & Neo Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update out
In order to discover whether or not your phone has been updated, just check the Talk Sony Mobile forums regularly. If you own an Xperia Arc or Neo, you can see which SI numbers have been updated.
If you are disappointed not to see your 2011 Xperia handset as one of those who have been updated, do not be disheartened as your Ice Cream Sandwich update should be rolled out pretty soon too (unless you own an Xperia Play).
The Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and Xperia Ray are also going to see upgrades in the form of Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware, as an update from Android 4.0.3 which they were running previously.
According to one of our readers, who sent in a screenshot of their device, the Xperia Neo V has now been updated to firmware build number 4.1.B.0.431 on their phone.
