If you’re up for an upgrade and looking to get the best Sprint hardware money can buy then you will likely be looking at the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Arguably the most powerful smartphone available on the market right now, one would think that it is a no-brainer to jump on one if you can. Well if you can wait a couple more weeks then it may just be worth it.
Upcoming Sprint phones: HTC EVO 4G LTE, iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3
Earlier this month Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S3. With it they revealed the specs and also confirmed that it would arrive in the US this summer. Simultaneously, Apple’s WWDC 2012 event takes place in less than a month (June 11). Apple as you know has launched every iPhone model (except for the iPhone 4S) at WWDC to date. So if Apple plans on announcing the iPhone 5 this summer, then the Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco is the ideal venue.
A quick look at the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S3 shows us that it is quite close to the HTC EVO 4G LTE but with a couple of advantages (slightly larger removable battery and screen). At the same time, the iPhone 5 is expected to finally jump on the LTE bandwagon and get a bigger display. Given that Sprint has promised an unlimited LTE data plan option, this is very important.
So if you’re in no rush to upgrade, summer is just around the corner. It may be worthwhile to hang in there, especially as you may be stuck with your choice for the next 24 months.
