Despite the criticism Samsung endured when it announced the Galaxy Note, the 5.3-inch phablet managed to become a hot seller, with the Korean manufacturer selling over 5 million units in under 5 months.
Verizon skips on Samsung Galaxy Note for a HTC phablet?
Here in the US, if you’re on AT&T then you’re in luck as it is the only one of the top 4 carriers which offer it. Because of its popularity, folks were hoping that it would eventually make its way to Verizon, the number one carrier in the US, however that hasn’t happened to date. Many believe that Big Red was just waiting for AT&T exclusivity on the Galaxy Note to expire before they could make their announcement but now there’s a new report from BGR that suggests otherwise.
According to BGR, Verizon is expected to launch a 5-inch Android smartphone with a 1080p display very shortly. The unnamed device is manufactured by HTC and will be powered by a quad-core Krait processor and Adreno 320 GPU.
No word yet on when HTC’s rival to the Samsung Galaxy Note will launch on Verizon. While BGR has a pretty good track record when it comes to Android rumors, we suggest taking this particular one with a grain of salt. More on this as it develops.
