With the Samsung Galaxy S3 now expected to launch in May, a similar time to when the Samsung Galaxy S2 was announced last year, Sammy’s scheduling appears to be falling in place.
TouchWiz-free Samsung Galaxy S3 hybrid coming in the way of Google Nexus 4 later this year?
If Samsung follows last year’s schedule then we should see the US variants of the Samsung Galaxy S3 hit carriers like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile starting in September. In addition to this, we may see a TouchWiz-free version come just a couple of months after in the way of the Google Nexus 4.
DigiTimes reports that it is essentially “given” that Google and Samsung will work together on the next Nexus device. As we know, this is usually chosen via a bidding and presentation process, and Samsung had already won the last two times around (Samsung Nexus S and Samsung Galaxy Nexus).
Now given that DigiTimes reports have been somewhat of a hit and miss lately, we wouldn’t think too much into this. If anything, we still think both Motorola and HTC have a shot (LG not likely).
We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
