No Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 Coming, Carrier Opts For Another Samsung Device Again?

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is without a doubt one of the most anticipated Android smartphones of 2012. However despite its popularity, there is still the odd chance that it won’t be picked up by all carriers here in the US.

No Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 coming?

In particular, we’re talking about the number one carrier in the US, Verizon. Just like how they skipped out on the Samsung Galaxy S2 last year for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus, word on the street is we may see it happen again with a Samsung device codenamed ‘Jasper’ taking its place.

As the folks over at PocketNow report, Verizon will launch a device codenamed Samsung Jasper (SCH-i200) that will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we see them skip it and launch another Samsung Droid phone (like the Jasper) instead”, reports AndroidAndMe. The blog puts the probability of this happening as 40 percent so there is still a good chance that we could see a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 after all and there’s no reason to get blue balled just yet.
