There’s now around 3 weeks to go before we should be able to get a glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy S3. From rumors that it would be a major overhaul of the original Galaxy S2 (1.8GHz quad-core processor, 12MP camera, 2GB RAM, wireless charging, flexible screen, 4.8-inch Super AMOLED Plus III HD display), to just being a minor update that would share the same looks as the Galaxy Note but with hardware to more match the HTC One X, we have no clue as to what Samsung has planned.
Samsung Galaxy S3 screen to be somewhere between Galaxy Note & S2
However what can be said with certainty is that it will fall right in between the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note in terms of screen size. It goes without saying that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will feature a display larger than the 4.3-inch Galaxy S2, and also that Samsung would not put a display more massive than 5.3-inches on a device that is meant for mass appeal. The sweet sport looks to be slightly larger if not similar to the 4.7-inch HTC One X.
While on the topic of screens, the folks over at BGR report that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will feature a 1080p resolution display, the first for a mobile smartphone. Now we can’t think why that would be neccessary given that the 720p display on the larger Samsung Galaxy Note is already crystal clear when it comes to viewing HD videos.
Nevertheless, when it comes to Samsung devices, screen technology always plays a large part. So here’s hoping we get that Super AMOLED III Plus display in the Galaxy S3 that’s been rumored since late last year.
