The Samsung Galaxy Note is without a doubt the most anticipated Android smartphone of 2012. Now with Samsung coming forward and officially announcing that the “next Galaxy” phone will be unveiled on May 3rd, fans finally have a solid date to get a glimpse of the Galaxy S3. The folks over at CNET however unfortunately suggest that we may not like what we see.
Samsung Galaxy S3 specs overrated, may be closer to HTC One X and design like Galaxy Note
According to Andrew Hoyle of CNET, his source inside UK’s telecom industry claims that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will just be a minor update over the current S2. In terms of hardware, it will closer match the HTC One X which boasts a 1.5GHz guad-core processor and 1GB RAM, instead of the rumored 1.8GHz quad-core Exynos with 2GB RAM.
The source further adds that in terms of design, Samsung will retain the home button and continue on with the current design which we saw passed from the Galaxy S2 to the Samsung Galaxy Note.
To top it all off, CNET’s source ends by saying that Samsung may not call it the Samsung Galaxy S3 since it will just be a minor upgrade similar to what we saw between the iPhone 4 and 4S.
Here’s hoping this isn’t true. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
