Samsung Galaxy S3 gets home button, iPhone 5 loses it (rumors)
In addition to rumors that both smartphones will feature faster processors, 12-megapixel cameras, LTE, NFC, larger displays and batteries to match, comes details about the home button. Now both the Samsung Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S feature a physical home button. Word on the street is that Apple may leave it out of the iPhone 5, while Samsung made a last minute decision to include it in the Galaxy S3 despite not needing it. Read on.
Given that the rumors suggested the iPhone 5 would feature a larger screen, the thinking behind axing the home button was in order to keep the iPhone 5 and its overall dimensions small. As for the Samsung Galaxy S3 which is expected to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and hence support on-screen buttons, Samsung apparently made a last minute decision to add the home button back in. We are not sure why they would do that as there have been no complaints with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and its lack of physical buttons. Nevertheless, these are just rumors at this time and just like all rumors, we suggest taking these two with a grain of salt.
