While the MacBook Air continues to sell extremely well despite its premium price tag, there is always going to be a market for cheaper alternatives that can brag similar features and design. In comes the Lenovo IdeaPad U310 and U410.
Lenovo IdeaPad passes FCC, dead-ringer for MacBook Air
Now while it does look like a MacBook Air clone, it isn’t a blatant rip-off. We’ve seen the black/silver color scheme with chiclet keys since the Sony VAIO netbooks (launched a year before the MacBook Air), and we have also seen this similar book-lid style design in previous Lenovo series netbooks. So while it may look almost identical to the MacBook Air, we doubt Apple is going to file an injunction against it.
The pictures below are taken at the FCC, which suggests that it is almost near to release. Rumors peg it for a May launch and judging by the ovation it received at CES earlier this year, it will no doubt be a popular alternative to the $1,300 13-inch Apple MacBook Air in the market.
