By now you would have heard that Google has started rolling out the long awaited Google Samsung Nexus S Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. The update, Android 4.04 to be exact, should begin to trickle down to your phone very shortly.

However if you wish to see if it is already available you can do so by navigating to Settings > About Phone to trigger it. If this doesn’t work then you can consider just uploading the ROM update to your Samsung Nexus S right now (instructions below via AndroidAndMe) instead of refreshing your About Phone screen throughout the day.
Grab the update file from Google; Place on the root of your SDcard; Power off your Nexus S, then once it’s off, hold volume up and power to boot into the bootloader; Navigate with the volume buttons to recovery, and use the power button to select it; You should see a warning triangle shortly after that, from there, hold down the power button and press volume up; Select apply update from /sdcard and choose the update file; Reboot your Nexus S with the menu option provided; and Enjoy!
