Google Nexus S Android 4.0 ICS Update Resumes In A Few Weeks[Engadget]

Google has attracted a lot of heat after they paused the rollout of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Google Nexus S back in December and never resumed.

Many Google Nexus S owners were upset as was apparent in the Android Google+ pages where they were asking Google for updates while the tech giant remained silent. In addition to upsetting users, the lack of an Android 4.0 update for the Google Nexus S no doubt undermines the ‘Nexus’ name which was synonymous with receiving updates before any other existing Android phone on the market.

With the HTC Sensation, HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S2 all getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update before the Nexus S, all faith is lost in Nexus name. Well it now looks like all that complaining has had some positive effect. According to Engadget, one of their “trusted sources has confirmed that Google is not abandoning you, and that an official Android 4.0 update for last year’s Nexus is expected to drop in the next few weeks — for reals this time.”

While it is no fixed release date, it still means that the Nexus S may finally be next in line to get Android 4.0. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
