Late yesterday, the Samsung Mobile website made an announcement that we had all been waiting for. According to the post, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 would roll out the very next day.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update
At the time of the announcement, we advised everyone to go ahead and updated their KIES software so that they could receive the Android 4.0 update for their Galaxy S2 in the next few hours. Well it turns out that this was a little premature of us.
According to the official Samsung Twitter page, the announcement was immediately removed from the Samsung website as it was posted erroneously by their Filipino arm.
However the good news is that the update appears to be extremely close and the promised Q1 release of it still seems possible. On a side note, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich feature list which the Samsung website mentioned before having yanked will obviously still apply. So at the least, you now know for certain what ICS features will surely be coming to your Samsung Galaxy S2. If you missed the feature list, then check out our post from this morning here.
