Gamers who have yet to make the move up to the next gen console, the Xbox One, may be pleased to hear the latest news. It seems that another bundle for the Xbox One is coming our way and in the bundle will be Titanfall.
So it is looking as though good things do come to those who wait. However it’s not good news for all those who chose to go to any length to get their hands on the console when it first arrived in November.
It has been said that then rumoured bundle for the Xbox One has been given confirmation by Microsoft and the release date is said to be 11 March in North America.
Microsoft issued a statement and said that the Titanfall Xbox One bundle will come in at $499.99. The Titanfall bundle will arrive in the UK first with the price drop on 28 Feb and it will have a download code, of course this is as long as supplies last.
The bundle is said to include a wireless controller, the Xbox One, one month of Xbox Live Gold, the headset and the download code for Titanfall.
Microsoft said in a statement “If you’ve been waiting for the biggest game of the generation before purchasing your Xbox One, this special, limited time offer is perfect for you,”
This should go towards boosting the sales of the Xbox One, but for those who went out and bought the console on day one, they are going to feel as though they have been ripped off as they will have paid the same for the standard console.
Even with the price cut though, gamers are able to pick up the PS4 for $50 cheaper.
A report has led to one interesting factor and this is that the UK used to be all for the Xbox 360 and now it seems that the shift has moved to the PS4. This is said to be the reason why the price cut is happening in the UK first, to try and bring back people to the Xbox One. The UK marketing director, Harvey Eagle said “We look at it and ask, ‘How can we offer the best value in this country?’ I’m responsible for the UK so I look at the UK and say, ‘How do we get the best value into the market for our fans?’ And we just feel now is the right time to make the adjustment on the price point,” said Mr Eagle in an interview with Metro. “With Titanfall coming, it just seems like the perfect time to do that.”
Mr Eagle thinks that the drop in price isn’t an admission that the PS4 is selling better than the Xbox One over in the UK and it doesn’t put the dampers on the Xbox One being the most successful launch to date for Microsoft in the UK.
