Microsoft has finally cracked their head over the long list of mistakes they’ve made with the latest Xbox One. Now, the tech vendor is looking to set things right. Come 28th February, the Xbox One is going to have that much needed price cut.
In Britain, the Xbox One was previously sold at UK$429.99. This is announced to drop to UK$399.99. That is a whopping UK$30 in savings. In addition to that, Microsoft will be throwing in Titanfall for free. Also, the Kinect will be part of the package.
Breaking down the prices, it appears that the Xbox One is now cheaper than the PS4. Microsoft biggest rival, Sony, is selling their next-gen console with a AAA game in the UK$360-UK$399 bracket. Adding the Playstation Camera to the package would cost an extra UK$50, thus making it more expensive than what Microsoft is about to offer.
Of course, there is no denying that the PS4 is more high-tech than the Xbox One. However, it is wrong to write off Microsoft next-gen console. After all, it does have the better Online experience.
The decision to bring down the price of the Xbox One certainly has an effect in the gaming industry. On a positive note, Microsoft is finally looking to make a comeback in the battle of the consoles. However, those who’ve purchased the Xbox One earlier are probably furious with the price cut.
These consumers who rushed their purchase should have seen it coming. Anything electronics will depreciate in value, sooner or later. The poor sales of the Xbox One have certainly forced Microsoft to play its power cards and now, the real contest begins.
As for the gaming community, they are all hoping for Titanfall to live up to its hype. This upcoming Microsoft-exclusive title is expected to be the game changer for the Xbox One.
