However we have information which leads us to believe that this may not be true. Naughty Dog has said that they wanted to clarify the release date of Uncharted 4 and said that it was in fact not doubtful that it would come out this year. They think that people have read between the lines and this has caused some confusion. PlayStation Lifestyle had talked with Monacelli and he said that what he said had been taken the wrong way. He was responding to a question about an Easter Egg when it was said “UC4 Easter Eggs? UC4 for PS$ in 2014 … LOU GOTY edition please!!” Monacelli replied with “Ha. Doubtful.”
The trailer for Uncharted 4 was released and it points to the game being about revenge. Drake doesn’t appear to be the one telling the story and so from this we can take it that he is the one that will be the target of revenge. We also saw a map in the trailer and this has gamers believing that Uncharted 4 could be set in South Africa, near Madagascar. Gamers should consider the fact that as Uncharted games are usually large, the game will hope around the globe. It isn’t thought that it will be solely in one place.
So it does look as though things were taken the wrong way and there is still a chance that Uncharted 4 will be released this year. Of course it doesn’t really matter how long it takes as fans will wait patiently.
