Titanfall Limitations Confirmed After String Of Rumors

Game Developer Respawn looks set to unleash Titanfall to the PC, Xbox 360 and the next-gen, Xbox One. The Microsoft exclusive title will be the first of many. Just from Titanfall’s trailer, many are excited to try out this new game.

Unlike how it was seen in the trailer, the game actually has a maximum of 6-a-side player capacity. This is confirmed the Respawn’s co-founder, Vince Zampella, who Tweeted Titanfall to have a cap of 12 players in a single game lobby.

He further added that Respawn has reviewed the game and for the best gaming experience, the game developer felt limiting a lobby to 12 players is necessary. It upholds that perfect balance and will also cater well for the AIs.

For an online shooter, that is quite a small lobby. It is nothing like Killzone 2 & 3 which maxed at 32 players, Battlefield 4 with 64 players and Planetside where there are 2000 players in a single map.

It could be that Titanfall is a fast-paced game and only puts in small maps. As a result, such a decision was made. If the map is too big and there are only 12 players, there will be a series of awkward silence throughout the game.

Titanfall is expected to come for a release this March. We will know for sure on how the game performs when it debuts in a couple of months’ time.
