Business is like a wilderness with all the dangers dressed in suits and tie. Microsoft has certainly scored after sealing the exclusivity of Titanfall with EA prior to the game’s release. The game has topped the charts ever since it got released and in a single weekend, the Xbox One sales doubled.
However, EA is probably regretting their agreement with Microsoft. A famous insider, Pete Todd, revealed that Titanfall is underperforming in terms of sales. This is due to the exclusivity in Microsoft. If EA didn’t agree to that deal, the company will be making more money with Titanfall’s release to the Sony PS4. After all, the PS4 is still far ahead in sales compared to the Xbox One.
The money offered by Microsoft is not that big when comparing to Titanfall’s earnings if it gets released to all consoles.
Since EA already regretted this, they could eventually bring Titanfall to PS4 once the game’s exclusivity with the Xbox One expires. Until then, both Sony and EA will just have to wait and watch Microsoft making a comeback in the console wars.
