Last December happens to be one of GtA Online’s darkest days following an invasion of hackers hacking the game. These hackers went around the city of Los Santos, giving away millions and billions of hacked GTA dollars to random players.
It is no secret on the methodology these hackers put to practice when giving away free money to the GTA community. They simply fixed a ridiculous amount of money on a single bounty. As a result, many players has turned ultra rich in GTA Online.
Majority of the GTA community were worried that the hackers are now GTA Online’s masters. This goes on until a couple of weeks ago when Rockstar stepped out of the shadows and waged war with the hackers.
The game developer stamped their authority on GTA Online by releasing a cheater’s lobby. Those who are caught hacking the game or reported to have done so will be banished to these lobby. In other words, the culprits will be banned from the public lobby.
While the intentions are good from Rockstar, some innocent players have been mistaken for hackers. One player even took his case to Reddit, revealing that he got put into the cheater’s lobby. The Redditor known as Bandwithwhore claims he did received lots of hacked money recently. However, he made it clear that it wasn’t his intentions to get the money.
Rockstar has already announced on a Tweet that those players who have been on the receiving end of these illegal money will not be banned. In spite of that, the game developer will unleash a system which will take off these money in a bid to restore GTA Online’s game economy.
Since Rockstar had put it that way, Bandwithwhore has done nothing wrong and should not be banned. There are 2 possible reasons for how it could have come to this. Either someone reported the thread master or Bandwithwhore has been giving away his money.
Aside from all that, there is a solution for players who have been wrongly banned from GTA Online. The best step is to call up Rockstar Support and explain the situation to them. It should resolve the entire issue.
