Gamers were disappointed with the release of Resident Evil 6 as it didn’t have the horror/survival element that gamers had come to love with the first couple of games in the series. Since Resident Evil 4 arrived players have been hoping that Capcom would go back to the roots of the game with Resident Evil 7.
Many gamers have been playing Resident Evil since the first version came out and they likened it to Silent Hill as it brought terror with it.
Since Resident Evil 4 the game has been more like a shoot up or adventure game.
Capcom need to return back to the terror aspect of the game otherwise fans could turn their backs on the franchise. The Evil Within has been one of the most talked about games from TangoGameworks since they revealed trailers for it.
The game takes on the mystery, horror and puzzle genre and it will be competition for Capcom as it will appeal to gamers who play Resident Evil 1 and 2.
So if Capcom wants to remain top dog with Resident Evil, Resident Evil needs to go back to the roots or the Evil Within could take over and become their worst nightmare.
