It was to everyone’s relief when Nintendo began rolling out the Pokebank over the past few days. However, the game developer only released it to the Japanese market as the rest of the world watches in envy.
The fans, particularly in the US, are furious with Nintendo for the way they handled the Pokebank. Right after the previous failed release, Nintendo has failed to address the fans accordingly. The company even added salt to the wound of the fans with the secret re-release of the Pokebank to Japan.
There are many reasons to back Nintendo’s decision. It could be that the game developer wishes to control the traffic to its servers to avoid a repeated failed launch. While it might be the wisest idea, Reddit revealed that signs of cracks are beginning to surface with the Pokebank’s re-release.
Despite restricting the release to the Japanese market, the Far East Pokemon community revealed that the eShop actually went down last night for a couple of hours. There has been no word on what could have caused this. Some might think the servers crash all over again or it could also be Nintendo running a quick check on the status of the servers.
In addition to that, the Pokebank went out of service for as well. This is a worrying sight for the fans as the Pokebank has yet to go global. With the North America next in line, it is a wonder on how the servers are going to cope with the traffic.
The fans are not helping the situation with many complains and criticism directed at Nintendo. They are angry over the fact that a month-long wait is for nothing if the servers were to crash again.
At the moment, there is no response from Nintendo. If you head to their support contact page, just above the web form there is a small announcement stating that they are aware of the server crashes and intermittent problems and are working on it. So in other words, don’t contact them anymore telling them about this particular problem. As every second passes, both Nintendo and the fans can only hope for the servers to hang on.
