After a rough end to 2013, game developer Nintendo has been starting 2014 at top gear in an attempt to re-launch the much-anticipated PokeBank service.
The previous PokeBank release appears to be an epic fail as it caused the eShop servers to crash. In a bid to control the damage, the game developer pulled out the PokeBank from the system and immediately commenced the eShop fixing. Since then, there have been no official date on when the PokeBank will arrive.
One Reddit user hints that the PokeBank will be rolled out on 13th January 2013. This is in reference to Nintendo’s support website which uploaded a letter confirming the date.
The announcement letter is in Japanese. After translating the website to English, it states there that the launch will be carried out on 13 January 11. Of course we are way past 2011. A headline right before the paragraph said that it is a postscript for 2014.
Despite the dodgy translation from Google, the following sentence suggest the date is for eShop’s discount week. As for the PokeBank mentioned in the notification, Nintendo is urging players to create a network ID which will ease the launch for the service.
PokeBank is one of the most anticipated feature from Nintendo which allow players to transfer Pokemon from previous versions to the current Pokemon X & Y.
At the moment, the PokeBank’s expected date of arrival is unknown. However, it will definitely come for a release once all the test are done. And that January 13th release date that has been flying around the forums is nothing more than a case of lost in translation.
