Nintendo’s Staggered Pokebank Release & Upgrades Seems To Avoid Crashes

Players of Pokemon X&Y are still waiting for the arrival of PokeBank in the US after server crashes left Nintendo delaying it.

Japanese gamers have managed to get hold of copies of PokeBank and this has put them ahead. So now it is only available in Japan and South Korea for the time being.

If you take a look at the eShop it says that the PokeBank is to be confirmed for the remainder of the world. In the US players have not been too happy about not knowing when it might come out.

Typically there should be an announcement days before the release, however gamers think that Nintendo will not make an announcement as they didn’t when it was re-released in Japan again.

Nintendo could have done this so as to avoid there being a mad rush as everyone tries once again to get their hands on it. If everyone rushes to get it at the same time there will of course be a strain on the servers again. We saw some issues with server uptime in the first day that Pokebank was re-released in Japan but since then things seem stable.

Nintendo could therefore try for a surprise release for the US, Australia and the remainder of the world. This means that gamers will have to keep their eyes open over at the eShop.

Japan have had PokeBank for some time and we haven’t heard about servers crashing in the past few days. So this staggered release despite being unfair to some regions does in fact work.
