Unless you’ve heard, a Mass Effect film is currently in production by Legendary Pictures and it will be about Commander Shepard and his adventure. On the other hand, Bioware is hard at work developing Mass Effect 4 which will be the biggest Mass Effect game yet.
Things are thought to be going well for both productions until Legendary Pictures came out to reveal that the Mass Effect film is being paused. In a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed that they wish to do the movie right. As such, Legendary Pictures look to take their time with it.
The CEO of Legendary Pictures added that the bar for Mass Effect film is very high and the last thing that the filmmaker wants to do is screw it up. As such, the company looks to adopt a cautious approach and not rush into things.
Thanks to Mass Effect’s interactivity, the game is so complex and creating a film adaptation of it is really difficult. Thomas Tull confirmed this by claiming that it is a complex story which makes it challenging.
Based on the interview with the CEO, it seems more likely that Mass Effect 4 will be released first and if there will ever be a Mass Effect film, it will come much later after.
