It is no secret that Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently in development by Square Enix. This highly anticipated third and final sequel to the Kingdom Hearts franchise has been in the works for so long now and the fans are hungry for the game’s release date.
However, things suffered a little setback after Kingdom Hearts 3’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase, revealed that the game developer is currently focusing on its other AAA title, Final Fantasy XV. It appears that they wanted to reveal the expected release date already but since Final Fantasy XV has progressed further in development, Square Enix felt that it is best to finish it off before coming back to Kingdom Hearts 3.
Fans might assume that there is some sort of rivalry between the two franchises from Square Enix. This got written off by Kitase who claims that it is simply down to the fact that Final Fantasy XV is nearing completion while Kingdom Hearts 3 is not.
Even the director for Kingdom Hearts 3, Tetsuya Nomura, revealed that Square Enix is still exploring all the ideas for the game. Having said all that, fans who really wish to know the release date should at least wait until E3 in June this year. It is widely believed that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be announced then.
