The Half Life community has been taking in a lot of provocation from gamers thanks to the fact that they are waiting for the games arrival and it hasn’t arrived yet. Some die-hard fans of the series have been waiting for ten years for the game and the wait doesn’t look to be anywhere close to being over.
Gabe Newell recently talked about Half Life 3, fans will know that he is the co-founder of Valve. He said that Valve began life as a single player video game developer and went on to say that to date Half Life is the most successful product that they have ever created.
When talking about the long wait he said that Valve realised that they wanted to change the way that Valve are heading. The developer has been making multi-player games.
Newell said that Valve got divided internally and that some part of the company wanted to develop Half Life 2 and the rest of them were putting their focus on Steam. Steam of course has become a big success and therefore the main development team of Valve have been working on it.
He also said that there wasn’t any interest anymore in Half Live. He said that claiming to be a good designer on Half Life is not as valued as how to design a good multi-player game.
Naturally gamers who have waited for ten years were upset by this news. Newell did go on to say that the determining factor when it came to company choices had been fans. He finished off by saying that Valve could still develop Half Life 3, after all fans have waited for long enough already.
