It has been said that fans waiting for the arrival of Half Life 3 might have to wait for some time yet and show more patience, even though that patience must now be wearing a bit thin. Some people have been wondering why they have had to wait for so long for the third game in the series to arrive.
Valve still haven’t made anything official about Half Life 3 but it hasn’t stopped gamers from talking about the subject. It seems that there could be many reasons as to why Half Life 3 is on hold.
Some fans of the game said that the developer may be stuck for a decent storyline. In the first Half Life game it saw gamers having to escape from city 17. In the sequel gamers had to destroy the combines portal and reveal the borealis. Ideas may now be a bit limited for Valve, who is known for ensuring they keep up the reputation of games. They are not going to launch a game with ideas that they consider below par.
It has also been said that the Source 2 engine could be behind the wait for Half Life 3. A new game engine would need a long time to create and perhaps until it is finished other things will have been put on hold.
Valve are also developing Steam box and this could be keeping them busy it has been said. This is to be the future gaming console from Valve and a milestone for them. However it is going to need a great deal of work and so Half Life 3 may have been put on the back burner by Valve.
