There is a great deal of mystery surrounding Half Life 3 and fans of this highly successful gaming franchise are going crazy thinking and waiting for it to arrive. The latest Reddit AMA featuring Valve’s co-founder, Gabe Newell has so much hype to it but it turns out to be disappointing.
Unfortunately, fans got the first-hand bitter taste of Newell’s evasive manoeuvres. Whenever a question regarding Half Life 3 was raised, the co-founder simply ignored. This is the same case with Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead 3 as well.
GamerHeadlines suggest that there have been so many leaks as of late that suggested Half Life 3 is in the makings. This is following the confirmation of the new Source gaming engine which is nearing its completion. Valve might not announce anything as of yet but fans continue to believe Half Life 3 is in development.
The basic logic is enough to explain this. Valve is a corporation and a corporation exists to make money. There isn’t a bigger opportunity to make money than with Half Life 3 and it is impossible for Valve to avoid this gold rush opportunity.
Another reason to explain Newell’s secrecy would be due to Half Life 3’s development itself. Perhaps the game has yet to reach a certain stage before it gets announced. As such, Newell avoided the subject instead of denying it.
All in all, there is no possibility for Valve to avoid Half Life 3 even if it drags on for the next decade or so. Newell might be a big guy but the hints are obvious. The co-founder can’t hide Half Life 3 forever.
