There has been a new leak showcasing lot of new weapons headed our way. These are said to include the remote sniper, smoke grenade, briefcase bomb and stinger. Fans have been speculating about them and how they might be used.
Fans seem to be in agreement that the new weapons could be props and weapons that will be used in the single player missions. For instance the remote sniper could be used in single player mission to shoot down the jet, while the stinger could be attached to a car in a mission.
Forum users also pointed out that Rockstar did the same thing in IV when they listed the mini-gun as being a weapon in the files; however it turned out to be just a part of the annihilator.
One user also pointed out that there is already a smoke grenade in the game and the briefcase is in a mission that is scoped out with Trevor on the docks. Another user said that the stinger weapons could refer to the personal AA homing missile and this is seen on the Buzzard helicopter. However a stinger could also be the weapon that is used by police to stop cars traveling at speed, it is thrown out into the road as a strip that has metal spikes on it and typically bursts the tyres of cars that travel over it. This might not be any use though as one fan was quick to say that the cars have tyres that are bullet proof and so the spikes wouldn’t have any effect on them.
When it comes down to it the new weapons that were leaked could just be from campaign code pointed out one user of the forum. It was pointed out that the remote sniper could be the one from the Caida Libre, while the stinger is the lock on missiles, the briefcases are used in missions and smoke grenade and launcher are cut beta weapons.
So for the time being it isn’t known whether the leak is for new weapons or if it is just weapons from the campaign files. See the list here.
