To date we’ve already seen patent filings for the next-generation 3-door F20 1-Series BMW hatchback. So it comes as no surprise that such a model exists and is likely doing test runs over in Europe.
2012 F20 BMW 135iM spy photos surface
Well we’ve got another treat this week as European spyshot contributor SB-Medien via WorldCarFans has managed to grab a couple of shots of a very slightly camouflaged new F20 BMW 1-series roaming the urban streets.
Now as can be seen from the picture below, the 2012 BMW 1-Series looks almost identical to its predecessor, hence the need to not cover it up so much. This model in particular is equipped with the F20 M-Sport package. Given that this pocket rocket has around 320 horsepower to the rear wheels, its looks will be secondary to how it performs and will likely take the title of the hottest hatch on the road very soon.
No word yet on when it will actually hit the market but as usual, expect it to be made available in Europe a couple of months before making its way to the US. Given that BMW has managed to snag the title as the no.1 US luxury brand from Mercedes Benz and Lexus, a high performance model such as the F20 135iM comes in at no better of a time.
