When Apple released the iPhone 5S last year, many thought of it as a perfect smartphone with no direct competitors. That was soon addressed when Samsung launched the Galaxy S5 and LG launched the G3. However, one other smartphone fared better and it is the Xiaomi.
The smartphone manufacturer from China started out small back in 2010 but it immediately bagged a big slice of the local smartphone market share. Furthermore, most of its shares are from Apple as the latter loses its dominance in the Chinese market.
Also Xiaomi’s biggest strategy is to max out profits from hardware sales to cover the after-sales cost. This is something totally opposite of Apple. This comes together with their no-nonsense and also no-arrogance insurance policy.
The best part about Xiaomi is that they actually listen to the consumers and aims to offer what the masses want. Apple, on the other hand, recycle the same blueprint over and over again while giving minor upgrades with every new iPhones.
Xiaomi don’t look like slowing down as they have hired former VP of Google, Hugo Barra to manage the operations. In fact, the lad is one of the many powerful faces in the industry to join Xiaomi.
All in all, the Xioami is the true iPhone killer that needs to be recognized. Their product s make iPhone looks like just another smartphone.
