Volkswagen had just unveiled a brand new Transporter T6 concept drawing and the van certainly looks promising. As how it is pictured above, VW’s board member Dr Neusser teased that the vehicle is going to be a full EV van.
If so, then the EV transporter is poised to become a big failure on its end. Being a next-gen camper van, there is no point to run on electric motors as that will only hinder the Transporter from its primary function, to bring drivers on a camping trip.
After all, nobody wants to take a long drive into the woods only to realize that they are running low on electrical juice. Furthermore, there is a huge risk for the Transporter T6 camper van to not able to complete the return journey.
Clearly, an EV VW Transporter will only limit the van in the city boundaries where there are a few EV charging stations. The vehicle is not meant to go beyond the city border unless VW decided that it is better for the Transporter EV to come with a hybrid setup.
