Volkswagen has unveiled a brand new concept back at the last Geneva Motor Show and it is called the T-Roc. The vehicle is slightly larger than the UP! SUV, but smaller than the Tiguan.
In detail, the T-Roc has a measurement of 4,179 mm long, 1,831 mm wide and 1,501 mm tall. Hence, the 3-door, 4-seater car will be in direct competition with the Nissan Juke, Mini Countryman and Jeep Renegade when released.
VW described the T-Roc as a work of art. The vehicle’s roof consists of two halves that can be folded automatically and stored in the boot. Even with the robo-roof, the T-Roc is built on the MQB platform.
Furthermore, the fact that the T-Roc only weighs 1,420kg means that it will be able to harness more power from the 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that is mated to a 7-speed twin-clutch DSG transmission and 4MOTION AWD system.
In figures, the T-Roc can generate 181hp and 380Nm of torque. Also, the car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 6.9 seconds but top speed is limited to 210km/h. Even with so much power, the T-Roc is going to be fuel savvy with consumption ratings averaging at 4.9L/100km.
This is made possible thanks to the three engine tunings that can be toggled by the driver. They are revealed to be Street’, ‘Off-road’ and ‘Snow’. Selecting either will tweak the parameters of the 4Motion drive train, 7-speed DSG, ABS, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.
