Since Volkswagen cars have been affected with the diesel emission scandal, Volkswagen has decided to revamp its diesel cars in order to legitimately pass the emissions tests, which could take a long time.
Over 20 per cent of the Volkswagen cars sold in the US were diesels, as of last month. Europe has more number of diesel cars, so putting an end to the car sales in the country will have a bigger impact to Volkswagen.
Nevertheless, not all Volkswagen vehicles’ sale will be stopped. Only those using the EA 189/Euro 5 engine will be affected. But, the bad news is that the engine is used in a lot of the small and midsize Volkswagen cars.
Bigger diesel cars use engines that reduce emissions using a urea solution called AdBlue. Smaller EA 189 engine was not built with an AdBlue process, and instead it used the software to make it looked like the cars were cleaner than they really were. We hope that this issue will be resolved as soon as possible, and Volkswagen sale will return to normal.
