In the pace of three years, Toyota has produced about 2,500 RAV 4 EV and the vehicle is built with many parts taken from Tesla. Now, Toyota has launched a recall for each and every RAV 4 EV after the company found a software flaw with the vehicle’s propulsion system.
In detail, the system can lead to the RAV 4 EV to independently shift into Neutral transmission and this carries the risk for the driver to lose control of the vehicle. This is surprising and intriguing at the same time as there has yet to be system-based risk raised prior to this case.
At the moment, Toyota is contacting every RAV 4 EV owners to inform them on the recall and the fix is as simple as a software update to the propulsion system.
