Toyota Recall Campaign Sees 1.67 Million Returning To Service Centre

It was announced yesterday by Toyota that they will be conducting three recall campaigns effective immediately. A total of 1.67 million cars are listed in the campaign with more than a million coming from Japan and about 615,000 units elsewhere.

The first campaign has started today and it covers 802,000 vehicles. This consists of the Toyota Crown Majesta, Crown, Noah and Voxy models manufactured between June 2007 and June 2012. Toyota revealed that the vehicles are suspected to have a fault with the seal ring in the brake master cylinder that could lead to brake fluid leakage.

The second recall affects 759,000 vehicles and 423,000 of them are from here in the US. The models are revealed to be the Lexus LS, GS and IS. Toyota explained that the fuel delivery parts are suspected to be problematic, hence the recall.

The third and final campaign is for the front-wheel drive Corolla Rumion and Auris vehicles that were manufactured between October 2006 and October 2014. A total of 190,000 units are affected and they are all located in Japan. The issue is revealed to be with the faulty evaporative emission control unit in these vehicles.

Toyota has already notified the car owners via their contact particulars. On the other hand, the Japanese carmaker said that the recall is voluntary which means that owners of the above vehicle are not obliged to get their car inspected.

However, if they do send their car for inspection, Toyota will replace the damaged parts at no charge. Also, there has yet to be any accidents, injuries or fatalities caused by the faulty parts.
