Toyota Prius V Hybrid Airbags Come To Life

Toyota has launched a recall order for all Prius V Hybrid that were manufactured in 2014 and 2015 due to a suspect fault with the MPV centre in the Occupant Classification System.

In detail, the aforementioned system can go haywire and activate the side passenger airbag when there are no accidents. On the other hand, the system might also not activate the airbags when the Prius gets into an accident.

Either way, the faulty system puts the passengers in the Prius V Hybrid at risk of fatal injuries. Of course, there has yet to be any reports of such happenings.

A total of 5000 units of the Prius V Hybrid are being recalled and the owners have been personally contacted by Toyota. If you are among them, then you should head down to the nearest service centre to get the car checked.
