When Honda launched the CR-V vehicles in 2012 they didn’t reveal the 2014 Honda CR-V diesel version. They have now though and it is available in the DTi-S 6 speed manual and the 5 speed automatic version. They both have a 2.2 litre turbocharged 4 cylinder engine and offer 110kW along with 250Nm of torque.
If you go for the DTi-S with the all-wheel drive you get Intelligent Control, 17 inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, cruise control and LED tail and running lights. The 2014 Honda CR-V DTi-L has all the above offers plus it comes with parking sensors at the front, leather trims, HID bi-xenon headlights and 18 inch alloy wheels. You can pick up the CRV diesel for around $3500 more than what you would have to pay out for the petrol version and if you go for the manual it has a price tag of $38, 290. The DTi-L version can be picked up for about $45, 915.
There is a high quality cabin in the 2014 Honda CR-V and finding the perfect position for driving is easy. There are two displays with one above the main display and the vehicles engine doesn’t sound harsh. The gears are responsive and the 5 speed auto offers a lot of pull. The 6 speed manual diesel version is the best to choose if you want to tow.
Honda might well be wishing that they had brought out the 2014 Honda CR-V diesel from the start. It might not be the cheapest of the vehicles but it does offer value for money and its refined while being great quality.
