How do you decide between the Tesla Model S and the BMW i3? The former might be more popular but the awards belong to the i3. Even so, we still believe that the Tesla Model S is the better buy and here’s why.
The BMW i3 might have bagged more awards but all of them are for having better efficiency than the other EV cars in the segment. In detail, the i3 returns 125mpg on average and the Model S returns 89mpg. This basically means that the i3 is about 16% more efficient than the Model S.
Then again, if 16% is translated on the electricity bills, it translates to an addition $8 a month if both cars are to cover the same mileage in a month.
This is why the Tesla Model S is the better choice. For that extra $8, you can enjoy a much bigger travel distance, more comfort and also power. The Model S is capable of covering 265miles before requiring a recharge and this makes it more appealing than the BMW i3.
