The BMW i8 has bagged all the awards for being the best EV car. Even so, we still believe that consumers should settle for the Tesla Model S and we are going to explain why.
For starters, the BMW i8 won everything there is to win because of its unbeatable efficiency. The i8 basically offers 125mpg on average and this is about 16% more efficient than the Tesla Model S.
However, the battery pack on the i8 is too small for it to cover great driving distance. The Tesla Model S might offer only 89mpg but it is able to cover a longer driving range.
Taking the average monthly mileage of 10,000miles, the 16% difference only translates to an additional $8 on the electricity bills. With the Model S being able to cover longer distance, we don’t mind paying $8 more a month. It is a sum far too small to worry about.
Besides, countless reviews have proven that the Tesla Model S is more comfortable than the BMW i8. As such, we highly encourage consumers to get the former instead of the latter.
