We’ve seen the concept sketches on the Ssangyong XAV concept before this but we never once thought that it will be a mini-SUV. A concept model of the XAV was fully unveiled earlier today at the Seoul Motor show and it confirms that the future SUV is going to be a hobbit in the segment.
As how it is pictured above, the XAV does not look big but it does appear bulky due to the boxy structure of the vehicle. SsangYong revealed that the design is a tribute to the old Korando and this explains the decent styling.
Despite being small in size, Ssangyong promised that there will be ample space inside the cabin. Also, there will be enough interior storage for outdoor activities.
Under the hood, the XAV is going to be made as a hybrid SUV. The vehicle is going to run on a 1.6L engine that is paired together with an e-4WD system that consists of a lithium-ion battery and electric motors mounted on the front and rear wheels.
As such, it is safe to assume that the final XAV’s final product is going to offer plenty of torque while also being fuel savvy at the same time.
