This is probably going to be a sad news for some of you. Ford has announced that it will not produce the RS version of Fiesta anymore. According to Ford Performance’s global chief engineer, Jamal Hameedi, Ford Fiesta RS would be hard to construct the series of production.
Ford has gone through several discussion of whether they will get a lot of customers with Ford Fiesta RS. Ford knows that the model will be a big hit in the Europe market, since their fans will go for it, but Ford aims to focus on projects that they think will have a more global reach.
With Ford Fiesta RS’s inadequate purview and appeal, it would fall into that line of thinking. Future products need to be considered with a global market perspective in mind.
Ford is focusing on producing a performance SUV instead, giving a hint that a ST variant of the C520 Kuga may be revealed soon. This news is following after Ford feels that there is a better spot in the market for the ST than the RS crossover.
