Back in April this year, Sony launched the Xperia Z2 and it is one of the best smartphones around. A month later, LG launched the G3 and it arrived with some explosive hardwares. However, is the latter better than the Z2?
When putting both devices side-by-side, the G3 is obviously the larger device. The smartphone from Korea comes with a 5.5” screen that offers a whopping 538ppi. This is 27% sharper than the 5.2” display on the Z2, which is only able to produce 424ppi.
On the other hand, the Z2 is able to last longer than the G3. The former has a 3200mAh battery, which is larger than the 3000mAh battery on the latter. Also, the larger and sharper display on the G3 drains the battery at a faster rate.
Under the casing, both devices are equally powerful to each other. They are equipped with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU.
In the field of photography, the 20.7MP rear and 2.2MP front cameras on the Z2 are far more superior to the 13MP rear, and 2.1MP front shooters on the G3. Regardless, both set of cameras are able to record videos at 4K quality.
It is really difficult to single out a winner in this contest but we have to side with the Sony Xperia Z2, despite the fact that the G3 comes with a revolutionary screen. The former is both water and dust proof which made it the more appealing device.
